Before you install
What does ProfitShield do?+
It works out the real profit of every Shopify order: the sale price minus product cost, shipping, payment fees, discounts and packaging. Orders that fall below the profit floor you set are flagged for you to review, or, if you switch on Block, stopped at checkout before they are placed.
Who is it for?+
Shopify stores of any size that run discounts, offer free shipping or sell low-margin products, where some orders can quietly lose money. If you do not sell on Shopify, the standalone web app gives you the same profit numbers from a CSV import or the API, without checkout blocking.
How much does it cost?+
There is a Free plan for up to 50 orders a month. Paid plans are Protect at $19, Pro at $49 and Business at $149 a month, billed in US dollars, each with a 14-day free trial. These match the Shopify App Store listing.
Won't blocking cost me sales?+
ProfitShield starts in Flag mode, so nothing is blocked until you choose. You see every order that falls below your floor and decide. Turn on Block only when you want those orders stopped at checkout automatically. Orders above your floor are not affected.
Does ProfitShield charge per-order fees?+
No. Each plan is a flat monthly price with no per-order or overage fees. When a free trial ends you stay on the Free plan unless you have chosen a paid one.
Do I need Shopify Plus or an ERP?+
No. ProfitShield installs on any Shopify plan from the Shopify App Store. You do not need Shopify Plus or an ERP.
Where do my product costs come from?+
ProfitShield reads the cost per item you already keep on your Shopify product variants. You can also add or change costs in the app, and on paid plans import them from a CSV file.
